We want to make you famous!
At least locally, that is…
Congratulations to Michelle Schoen, the first of many who will have articles placed in their local publications.
This is the first article that we’ve placed before the NAMS8 workshop. We’re trying to do much more with 6 or 7 students or instructors that our publicity team has rounded up.
Originally, I started writing the articles myself, because I like to do that. But the time investment was overwhelming, so now, we’re using Rebecca Caroe’s New Zealand (and international team) at Creative Strategies Agency to drive our publicity efforts.
This article in a small town daily newspaper, in Cartersville, GA, has already received more than 2000 views in less than 32 hours… Not bad for free publicity!
You can have a story placed about you too. All you have to do is fill out our information. Go here to see what we’re trying to do for you!
To get better results, one of the things I’ve learned is to get out of the way. That seems to be a lesson that I have to learn over and over.
As we get the articles placed, we’ll post them in the press room so you can follow all of them there.
If you’d like to get the same effect for your business, check with Rebecca. You may remember her from NAMS7 – yep, like always, I build all my business relationships at NAMS. Do you?
Tell us what you think about this effort in the comments below.

All you have to do to start the publicity ball rolling is to submit your information here http://mynams.com/featured/are-you-a-star-yet
What’s stopping you?
David,
This is the first time I’ve been in the newspaper and I really appreciate you guys making that happen! I’v already gotten lots of e-mails from people all over Atlanta asking about more about what I’m doing at NAMS and where people can purchase my courses. I highly suggest others take the time to submit their info and get some local publicity for your business and for NAMS as it really does work.
You’re welcome Michelle – having been an old newspaper guy for so many years, I spent a lot of time telling people why their stories would NOT make it into the paper. The biggest reason was that they were too promotional with too little local interest. Approaching our members this way and focusing on the local press is absolutely the right way for us to get people in the newspapers because they (you in this case) are great stories. And newspapers are always looking for great stories. And it’s awesome free publicity of the best kind.
