As an instructor and an aide at NAMS6, I had the pleasure of working with students directly.
On day one, I assisted in the 100 Level (beginner). I watched the students brainstorm with the instructors (Lynn Terry, Chris Cobb, and Bob “The Teacher” Jenkins) and each other to find their “niche,” buy their first domain name, add hosting, and install their very first website. The look of excitement on their faces was incredible! The students were so pumped up and eager to keep on going.
Afterwards, I spent some time reflecting on how difficult it was for me in the beginning. I wasted so many years jumping from one “great idea” to another, searching the Internet for answers, and wasting precious time and money, only to fail over and over. If only NAMS would have been around then.
Later that night, I meet Kyle Greenwood, who owns an Apple repair store. It was his first NAMS and he was there with his mom, grandmother, and his great-grandmother.
Since I was presenting two Internet security workshops (300 Level) the next day and I’m not a MAC user, I asked him to speak about MAC security in my class. He was excited and nervous, but agreed.
I’m so proud of Kyle. He overcame his fear of public speaking and did great. He now has “expanded” his niche to offer remote MAC support and is assisting my blog readers with MAC security questions too.
A big thank you goes out to David Perdew for allowing me to be an instructor at NAMS6 and teach what I love. Watching the class take action in protecting their computers and adding WordPress security was amazing! They asked a lot of great questions and we all learned from each other.
I have many big takeaways from NAMS6, but there are two that really stand out in my mind.
Nicole Dean and I were talking about the struggle I have with writing blog posts and staring at my monitor wondering what to write. She asked me, “Regina, do you get questions in your email?” I replied, “Yes, I get WordPress security questions all the time.” She then asked, “Do you answer them?” I said, “Yes, and usually my answers are a mile long.” Nicole said, “Hello… those are your blog posts!”
Then I talked with Angie Newton and Lynn Terry and come to find out that is one of the ways Lynn helps her readers as well, making email questions into blog posts. OMG! I know have a giant light bulb over my head.
Since NAMS4 (my first NAMS), I’ve been taking “action” and my business has continued to grow. It has grown so much that it was time to expand my team, so at NAMS6 I did just that. I added Angie Newton as my business manager, Cindy Bidar as my security technician, and Loretta Oliver as my new transcriptionist. Without NAMS, I wouldn't have found them.
The power of attending the Niche Affiliate Marketing Workshops and being a member of MyNams.com is amazing! NAMS give me the resources, tools, instructors, and friends that guide me through my ever-growing online business success.
I wouldn’t be where I am today without David Perdew and MyNAMS! Thank you!
