Tell Me More About The Insiders Club!

When you think about your business and your life, do you find yourself saying:

If I only had more clients on retainer?

If I only could get my product launched?

If I only knew how to build my list?

I know my product is good, I just don’t know how to market it.

I know I need to add more streams of revenue to my business but I just don’t know how.

I’m overwhelmed with the day-to-day of my business but I don’t know how to hire the right help.

I know I want to start a business but I just don’t know how to actually do it.

Well my friend, everyone who’s ever started or is trying to start a business has those exact same feelings.

start-up

Am I saying your problems aren’t unique?

Nope.

I’m saying where you are today in your journey is UNIQUE TO YOU.

That’s the thing. Most training programs and courses out there teach you one thing.

And they have no idea where you are in your business. They treat everyone the same.

And that kinda sucks.

It sucks for people like you who are so motivated and determined to succeed with your business.

You get lumped together with folks who are either above you or below you in skill.

And you’ve got no place to go.

I’ve been there done that.

One of the reasons I started NAMS 10 years ago was because I was frustrated that there was no one place to learn how to be an online business owner.

I was frustrated with how to stay on top of the strategies needed to start and maintain a business.

How to learn about new technology and platforms.

All of it.

I had these same frustrations as you because I wanted the freedom that comes with a successful online business. And I knew others - like you - were probably going through the same thing as me.

It was that feeling of being lost in the dark, bumping into things, grasping for a lifeline, hoping to find the skills and the knowledge to get my online business off the ground.

So I hired mentors and coaches, and surrounded myself with people who were doing it. Walking the walk and talking the talk.

And I learned.

I made big mistakes. I had huge wins.

I used that experience to create the MyNAMS Insiders Club.

A place where I knew other fellow entrepreneurs could feel safe.

A place where you felt like you had a home.

A place where other members celebrate your wins and help you get back in the game after your failures. They help you make the changes that move toward becoming a more successful and powerful business owner.

david-lecture

Let me ask you this; if you could access that kind of community, would you be interested?

Of course, you would.

If you could access easy to consume and easy to implement training courses that helped solve the problem you have TODAY, would you be interested?

Of course, you would.

Why?

No one else offers what the MyNAMS Insiders Club offers.

Remember above, I mentioned we’ve been doing this for 10 years?

Well, we actually just had our anniversary.

I want to honor that anniversary because we’ve helped thousands of entrepreneurs move the needle in their own businesses.

It’s been an honor for me to be a part of those successes.

So to celebrate those successes and celebrate YOUR determination and drive to create the business of your dreams, we’re making the MyNAMS Insiders Club accessible to ANYONE who has the drive and the passion to push the needle.

That means you.

You have the opportunity to finally say:

  • I GOT more clients on retainer!
  • I GOT my product launched!
  • I BUILT my list!
  • I KNOW how to market my business!
  • I ADDED  more streams of revenue to my business!

These MyNAMS Insiders Club Members Talk About The Success They've Created For Their Business
By Following The Process

LouBortone-InsidersClub-Headshot-2019

"Since I've been a member, my income has at least doubled, if not more"

Lou Bortone has been a pioneer and thought leader in the video space since the launch of YouTube in 2005.

He helps entrepreneurs and companies create and leverage online video to build their brands and dramatically grow their revenues.

And you can find out more about me at LouBortone.com

I initially called myself the online video guy because I was doing online video almost before it was a thing - about the same time YouTube started.

I was doing video, a lot of video editing! And after joining NAMS, I really moved more into the strategy and the big picture part of video marketing.

Before, I was almost more like a freelancer or a service provider just editing video and I realized, “Well, I've got 20 years of marketing experience.” So, what I really want to do is video marketing and video strategy and I'll still do video editing from time to time for clients.

But rather than being a service provider or freelancer, now I can be more of a thought leader in video marketing and big picture strategy.

NAMS helped me with the relationships. When I came to the actual NAMS event for the first time it almost like it opened up a whole new world of relationships with folks who were doing what I was doing.

Many people were ahead of me succeeding at what I wanted to do.

I often talk about the time and the relationships and friends I've made there.

I learned more from Mike Stewart (a NAMS Instructor) in five minutes than I had learned in the previous year.

NAMS has been an absolute goldmine of relationships with really great people who are willing to share their knowledge and their secrets and their advice.

That for me was a total gamechanger.

I call it six degrees of NAMS. Pretty much everybody that I know online and everyone that I work with came from NAMS.

I was doing a program last month and Kathleen Gage who was promoting for me and I realized that I never would have known her. I had lunch with her once at a NAMS Workshop and that's kind of how that relationship began.

The biggest challenge before I was part of the Insider's Club was it wasn't so much that I didn't know what to do, but that I didn't know where to start.

There was just so much.

Part of the NAMS thing again is you can follow the example of people who had done it before and people who had succeeded before. Borrow ideas from them.

And they're more than willing to share, which is great. A lot of it was just not wasting time doing stuff that wasn't going to give me a return on investment.

Cut through the crap and get right to the good stuff.

Because you know, obviously online there's just a lot of information out there and being able to cut through all of the noise and get right to the stuff that shows me how to do stuff, who's doing it right, and how do I follow what they're doing?

It comes back to the connections and the people and the relationships. A lot of it is just that.

I know if I go to a class that Kathleen Gage or Mike Stewart or Felicia Slattery or somebody does, that it's not going to be a waste of my time because you've vetted all these people.

We don't want to waste time obviously and this is a huge time saver because you just dispense with all the other crap.

I always know if it's something that you're promoting or somebody from NAMS is promoting that it's top notch.

We've all been on webinars where it's like, "Okay, we're 30 minutes into this and all I've heard is a story about the person and I haven't heard any content." With you guys, it's like, let’s get to the content!

My results since my NAMS association has been huge.

If it wasn't for those relationships from the Insiders Club and from the NAMS Workshop, I really wouldn't probably have a business. I can again count on one or two hands the people that are key to my business.

My affiliates, my partners, my strategic alliances - I can trace all of those back to NAMS.

It's funny because I can say, well, my list has reduced by half and that's a good thing. It's not just numbers. It's really more about quality rather than quantity.

And since I've been a member, my income has at least doubled, if not more.

It comes back to the people and the relationships.

I'm not going to partner with somebody who I don't know or who hasn't been vetted.

Cathy-Demers-200x200

"I've actually tripled my time off while making more money"

I'm Cathy Demers, and I'm the founder of BusinessSuccess.com and the host of the weekly, 20-minute interview program The Business Success Café.

What I was primarily doing before NAMS was coaching a number of clients on different topics. I was very much an overworked, harried, exhausted, little bit demoralized sometimes with my results, entrepreneur.

My biggest challenge, and I think one that many other business owners share is trying to stay up to date on all the latest marketing trends, technologies, and strategies, and at the same time, staying focused on doing those things that generate revenue.

It's a real challenge to strike that balance. There's no end of bright, shiny objects coming my way that's for sure.

Also, being a solopreneur, small business owner with a very small team as I am, often I'm not the getting the support that I need.

I think it's a mistake to go looking for friends and family to provide us with that level of support that we're looking for. I call it 'looking for love in all the wrong places' because they want to support us, but they don't really know how to support us the best way.

I don't even remember the year I joined the Insiders Club. I've been a member for so long it just seems like an integral part of my business.

One of the reasons that I joined at the time was because it was not lost on me that there so many really bright people in this group, some of them with more experience in online marketing than others, but all of them experience in all kinds of different areas.

So, it was a great opportunity for me to surround myself with people who had a lot of knowledge and information in areas that I wasn't particularly adept at with an extreme willingness to share and to help and to support. That was so important.

I find that sometimes the people who don't have a lot of experience in online marketing have an actually more practical or pragmatic approach to things and those who are experienced in online marketing often get a little bit excited about things that are not all that down to earth. So I think there's a good balance between the two.

The Insiders Club has really helped me to stay focused on automating the different pieces of my business and setting up systems and finding ways to get recurring.

One of my goals has been to work less.

There are so many people I know who started working their own small business, they thought they'd have more freedom and they end up with a whole lot less because they work very long hours and weekends.

But for me, after putting in place a lot of the systems and automation we talk about in the Insiders Club, I've actually tripled my time off while making more money.

Wow, that's worth a lot to me.

I spend a lot of time on my boat. I spend a lot of time traveling. I love to go to the Caribbean, to Europe and places close to home and everything in between and I now have that flexibility. I can hang up my keyboard for a while and not worry about things.

Because one of the benefits of being an Insiders Club member is lifetime affiliate commissions, I’ve been able to line up commissions while I’m traveling.

One of those times, we had pre-scheduled everything. I said, "David, I'm hoping to earn some significant affiliate commissions."

You said to me, "There will be commissions ready for you when you get off the plane." So I got on the plane to fly to Europe for a trip through Paris and Spain. Sure enough, I got off the plane and at several other points when I got off the train and reconnected to the Internet, there was money in my affiliate account waiting for me.

You know, that's kind of the promise, the reason why we do a lot of this business, but it doesn't happen just by wishing for it. You have to set up the pieces, work with partners, and really get yourself surrounded by people who are doing the same so that you can replicate what they're doing successfully.

It was really important to me the way the affiliate commissions are handled.

When I send leads into the system, they are in your funnel and unlike a lot of partners that I've worked with where the leads just drop into a deep, dark hole never to be heard of again, you and your team have set everything up so that there is an opportunity to earn revenue on an ongoing basis.

There's been many, many months go by, David, where we haven't done a direct promotion, but the money continues to come in anyway.

One big benefit that I've received would be support. And of course, getting the tools and the training that I need to automate this business so that I am not tied completely to it.

So not only is my income going up and it impacts my bottom line, but I'm actually able to take more time off, to have that freedom, that flexibility that always seems to be the promise, but a lot of people never really achieve it because they're not able to accomplish that automation.

I'm Cathy Demers, and I'm the founder of BusinessSuccess.com and the host of the weekly, 20-minute interview program The Business Success Café.

Here's How I Use The Insiders Club
chriscobb-new

"It's the best group of people I've ever been associated with online, bar none."

I'm Christine Cobb and six years ago listening to another NAMS friend talk about Amazon, I got interested in going in that direction. And so, for the last six years, I've been an Amazon seller, I've taught people how to do it, and that's been very lucrative.

And along with that, I was also looking for ways to diversify that online e-commerce business and I got into Shopify and now I'm building some Shopify sites for people.

I was retired financial planner, an investment advisor.

I sold our company in the late summer, early fall of 2008. And so, I had to decide did I want to retire which I really was too young in my mind to do that or did I want to go work for someone else doing the same thing I was doing and I decided that was too much stress.

Managing people’s money is very stressful and so I needed to do something else and this whole online thing sort of came up from my sister and I had no idea what it was. The words affiliated marketing, online marketing I didn't have a clue what that was.

I thought it was kind of a big scam actually.

I ended up in a group of people that were doing that kind of thing and it sounded interesting. They were going to get together in Atlanta and so I decided I better show up and meet these people face to face.

There are scam things. And there are sub-scam things meaning that maybe somebody did something that worked but, it was an accident and then they're out there teaching people how to do the thing that they just accidentally were successful with for a short period of time.

And then they’re gone.

Just a flash in the pan.

I’ve been associated with NAMS since January 2009, so we're going on 10 years now. Wow. My how time flies when you're having a good time.

Okay first and foremost are the people that I have met and many of them are really good friends of mine now. And they taught me incredible things.

So, I can't say from an exact dollar amount that I've made because of NAMS but, my entire online business, whether it's building websites, doing e-commerce, doing digital products, it doesn't matter what it is…all of that is attributed to things I learn from NAMS and the relationships I've made at NAMS.

I mean I thought about it again today. I mean there's nothing, nothing that I did once I retired that I can attribute to anyone else. You started it. You're at the pinnacle of that list.

Truly it is. I'm not just making it up. It is true.

I mean the one thing I didn't want to do is do a business related to what I was good at which was taxes and investment advising because I was done with that.

I wanted to do something else that was more fun in my mind.

And so, I tried lots of things. I tried lots of niches. I took lots of courses. And the one thing that was consistent with all the courses I took was finding what I was good at.

I've built a website for every course I took, everything that I tried to go into. And I found that the techy stuff was what I enjoyed doing. And I was good at that.

So, teaching people how to make the techy stuff simpler was also something that I enjoyed doing. I went that direction. So, I built websites for people. I taught people how to build websites.

I created some digital products along those same lines. I got interested in website security from another friend that I met at NAMS and I built some of that into what I was doing.

And then about six years ago listening to another NAMS friend talk about Amazon, that got me interested in going that direction. And so, for the last six years, I've been an Amazon seller, I've taught people how to do it, and that's been very lucrative.

And along with that, I was looking for ways to diversify that online e-commerce business and I got into Shopify and now I'm building some Shopify sites for people.

For people that are interested, if you don't join the Insiders Club, you'll be very sorry.

It's the best group of people I've ever been associated with online, bar none.

Here's How I Use The Insiders Club
Amy-Bair

"I improved my list from 5 to more than 840 in six months. And then my four products with a landing page, email funnels, all of that, were finished in a 10-month period."

I'm Amy Bair founder and creator of TheEdibleTerrace.com

I am also a consultant working with WordPress, Memberium and Active campaign.

For 2 1/2 years, I was spinning my wheels trying to build my business and I was just stuck. I wasn't sure I could do it.

I had been hunting around for months for some kind of a coaching program. I was running into what I felt like were these internal roadblocks with the coaching programs I found. And then I found NAMS.

So, before NAMS, my freelance work always had been pretty intermittent. And you know, my website of course, The Edible Terrace, was null in terms of income.

It wasn't even feast or famine. It was like famine, and then, a little bit less famine, and then, more famine, and then maybe a little bit less famine.

There was never a feast in there ever, you know?

It's like, can I buy something better than just the generic can of black beans or can I actually upgrade and buy a decent can of black beans?

We were right on the edge, you know?

We were to the point where my husband and I were having conversations on whether maybe I really should just break down and go get a J-O-B, you know? Which I did not want to do.

The biggest challenge for me, and the whole reason I came to MyNAMS Insiders Club, was because I wanted so much to get my website to make some money. More than just 30 dollars one month.

And Christmas time I did a little bit better because of the Amazon affiliate, but just getting it to make some kind of steady income was important.

So that was my biggest challenge. For a couple of years, I could not budge. I just was stuck, you know? And no matter how many articles I read, how many little programs I tried. And I tried those couple of internships, I just wasn't moving.

I was incredibly frustrated. I was stuck for, well, for two years I was stuck. Maybe a little bit more, two and a half years. And I was incredibly frustrated and just could not, could not find a solution.

And so, my big thing, I've got these darn degrees and I shouldn't be struggling like this, you know? And so that made me feel even worse, you know? It'd be different if I didn't have the education in IT. Maybe I could use that as my excuse as to why I could not make this work to save my life, but I had no excuses or at least I felt like I had no excuses.

What is wrong with me that I can't figure out this monetization thing, you know? It's just ... ugh.

What I didn't understand until you and Jen was that, this is not about my computer skills. I mean that's a part, right? But there's a much bigger picture there that I just wasn't seeing because my eyes hadn't been opened to that. It's like changing out my eyeglasses, you know?

You and Jen were so good right at the beginning when I started stalking you both.

You and Jen opened my eyes up to list building, and all these nuances that go into building a list like, you need a landing page that people will actually be attracted to because of the psychology behind creating that landing page…

There are 450,000 steps to make that work. And it's not just stumbling over a couple of little brick steps out in the yard. It's very, very specific, fine-tuned. And then lots and lots of experimentation.

And if you two weren't so transparent about not just your successes but also your failures, then we could all be very discouraged by how difficult this is. And when I do get discouraged, I have to set myself apart a little bit and then say, yes, but remember what David said, and remember what Jen said.

Like it's really helpful when you tell me how many times it took me to get this right, and your very specific in numbers. Okay, if David can do this 25 times, then I can do this 23 more times, you know?

I joined the Insiders Club in January of last year. And I joined because I was at just absolutely at my wit's end.

I had been hunting around for months for some kind of a coaching program. But there were a lot of issues. I was running into what I felt like were these internal roadblocks with the coaching programs I found.

First, most of the people that were running them, I just didn't like them.

I don't know why - I can't tell you why I didn't.

They just didn't sit right with me. So I was going through trying to find one. And then the ones that seemed okay to me, well they were, you know, $5,000 a month or $35,000 to join. And there's no way, you know?

And then I got the email about the 2-week special which was great because it allowed me to step in with my little toe. That gave me a chance then to really see what the program was like and whether I thought you guys would work for what I'm trying to do.

And here was the other thing that you do that I couldn't find. Your Insiders Mastermind calls.

Right away, I noticed that you would let us ask you questions that pertain to us. And that was huge because the other problem I was running into was, most of these other programs didn't have any semblance of personalization.

And I knew I was going to need that.

I knew that no matter how many of these blanket programs I had tried, all of them were failing me.

Your age helped because it made me trust you. I thought, well he's been around for a while, he's had the program for a while. And I feel like I could look up to you and respect you.

And then, of course, Jen is so personable, especially on the Mastermind calls.

And then what I also liked was your relationship with each other. She could complete your sentences and you could complete hers.

So, I think it was the knowledge and then ...

Oh, and then also the group of course. The group's incredible. As soon as I joined and introduced myself, people like Kat come in and Art comes in and introduce themselves and say anything we can do to help. And they mean it, that's the wonderful part. You know, it's not just lip service.

My results have been great.

So, I have added more than 840 people to my mailing list.

That's enormous because I had been stuck on 5 for two years. I couldn't get past my 5, no matter what I tried.

And then I also have my products with entire funnels that are established behind the eBook. That's enormous. Everything from the landing page, to the thank you page, to the email series.

This whole entire little package that, in reality, if it turned into this huge money maker, I could pick that up and I could actually sell that. And that would never have occurred to me ever in a million years if you and Jen didn't talk about that.

So also, of course being part of the Insiders Club has gotten me a ton of web work. That was very sporadic in the past.

So, Jen mentioning me on a fairly regular basis in the Insiders Club calls has been a huge blessing, besides the fact that I'm now working with you guys on your new websites as well.

All of that's just been amazing. And frankly, it transformed my Christmas. Having all of the website business just transformed my Christmas this year. I was able to buy my kids Christmas presents.

I improved my list from 5 to more than 840 in six months. And then my four products with a landing page, email funnels, all of that, were finished in a 10-month period,

I was able to get those four products up and out into the market, and then advertising them in various and assorted ways. Pinterest, Facebook ads, et cetera. My exit pops-

You know, before the Insiders Club, I was really at a point where I was questioning whether this was a really just wrong road for me to go down.

But now, I wake up in the morning and I'm excited. And I think, cool, I have a direction to go in and this can work, and I have a support system in NAMS. And I have all of the courses that you guys offer. So if I feel like I'm stuck someplace, it's a guarantee there's a course on it someplace out there that I can at very least peruse and figure it out, you know?

Martin Greif Insiders Club Headshot-Form

"What you bring to the table, for me, is that grounding in the fundamentals that we all know and forget."

I'm Marty Greif, I'm Executive Vice-President with SiteTuners.com

We are a conversion rate optimization agency.

We are a conversion rate optimization agency. We help people increase their conversion rates and their revenue. We service from small to medium size organizations to multi-billion dollar corporations and everything in-between.

As an experienced internet marketer, myself, what I get out of the MyNAMS Insiders Club are reminders to always go back and remember the fundamentals. It is so easy when you know what you're doing to forget the fundamentals (what you're doing right) and do the wrong things again.

It is amazing how many times I come up with new and unique ways to do dumb things. I'm serious. The emails that you send me and the follow-up in the Insiders Club ground me back in the fundamentals for our business.

I run a successful multimillion-dollar internet marketing agency. Our clients range from organizations generating a million dollars a year to multi-billion-dollar corporations and everything in between.

We know what we're doing, but it doesn't hurt to be reminded of the fundamentals, and I'm serious when I say this, to ground myself back in reality.

What you bring to the table, for me, is that grounding in the fundamentals that we all know and forget. It's crazy.

One thing I love to see is the success of other people. I feel like I'm sharing in other peoples' successes vicariously, which I know sounds weird, but I love seeing people succeed.

The fact that people are in the Club, taking your advice and then they post, "I did this," and, "I did that," really motivates me and I love reading these stories.

When I need a feelgood moment, I actually go to the Insiders Club and read through the posts there. Between the people posting, your daughter’s posts and what you do, I feel good. Then, I go about my day.

Here's How I Use The Insiders Club
Melanie-Davis-Pic-Dark-Background-2-IMG_5367-600x400-300x200-circle

"People are so willing to jump in, and they want to help you with that, and they'll share their experience and what worked for them in your situation"

I'm Melanie M. Davis. My original business is melaniemdavis.com. And that's a virtual service business. We do white glove business service support for business owners, walking them through starting their business.

Then currently what I'm really pushing hard is useyourplr.com. People hand over their PLR or their done-for-you content. We take it, revamp it, brand it specific to them and their business, and give it back to them.

In 2019 I'm launching the Excellence Business Academy.

I have been part of the NAMS community and an original Insiders Club member since way back 2011. What I love about this Insiders Club is that it's a great way to get feedback, support, and ideas.

Sometimes, I’m wanting to share like an idea or an opt-in gift and just to bounce it off of somebody. The larger corporations, they spend tens of thousands of dollars before they roll out something to get feedback from people. However, we've got it easy here in the Insiders Club, because we get that, and we don't have to pay tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars to do that.

And as far as support goes, if there is a question, it doesn't matter really what it has to do with. If you ask it, people are so willing to jump in, and they want to help you with that, and they'll share their experience and what worked for them in your situation.

I love the fact that David and Jen are always available. I've never been around anyone like them in the positions that they are in, that they are just so willing to be available to us.

Literally, they're in there multiple times a day, because they're making comments and things like that. I love that they have weekly calls so that we have the opportunity to run new things by them or get input and feedback about that.

It's been great for my business, because any time I've needed some kind of a tool for my business, I don't have to think twice about David and the Insiders Club, because I trust him, and he has integrity.

And if he recommends something, I don't have to do the research, because he's already done it. That's a big deal because you can do your research and still get something wrong.

I've been in business since 1998 virtually. I've been extremely successful with that.

I was a single mom with two little ones, so it was really important for me to be able to do something like this. NAMS came along at a very good time for me. Currently, I'm working with NAMS in a deeper way, digging up the roots and getting deeper in on how to make things run more efficiently and how to recognize the ways that start bringing in additional revenue as I continue to build my secondary business, which is the Excellence Business Academy.

They helped me prioritize and say, "Wait a minute. You've already got an immediate business that you can do some tweaks to, fine tune some things and start getting more revenue from that. And then we'll go in and we'll tackle the Business Academy."

So, I really loved that, because I initially was going to do the Business Academy first, but their wisdom once again said, "No, let's do this."

It's been so valuable because to sit around a table and have them right there with you and have a small group, a mastermind group together, has just been amazing. You can get in there and knock so much more out than you could ever imagine. I can't tell you how many times I've carved out days in my week to work on my business, but there's something about staying in the same place, location in your office, that it's easy to kind of get distracted on other things.

However, when you're focused and you're live in a group, I mean, that's it. You don't have to go and let the dog out, and things like that that can disrupt your train of thought. And you get one-on-one, plus you get group feedback. Again, I just really appreciate that.

And being part of the Insiders Club really was a great sneak preview of what that can look like when you're on the true inside. It's been amazing.

I would say across the board, my business is solid. I would say at least 60% is due to working with David and being in the Insiders Club, because what I don't think people realize about the Insiders Club, is that it's more than a Facebook group where you can gather and just do things and get ideas, which is great, because we're all like-minded in that way.

But there are so many tools, you get courses, you get tons of things in the dashboard that is monumentally helpful.

I mean, it doesn't matter how long you've been in business and how much you know and what you've been doing, I guarantee you that checking in there once a month, because your business is always moving and growing and going somewhere else, you'll probably find something in there that it's not a bad idea to jump in and maybe resharpen what you've been doing.

Especially if you're someone like me who are doing more than one thing at one time. It's really helpful because at one point your business could be here, but you go in there and surprise, there's something you could truly use there and it'll amp it up quicker and faster.

"I know this wouldn‘t have been possible
without the assistance of NAMS"

My name is Alena Powell, and my company is called Stress Free Event Planning at StressFreeEventPlanning.com

The goal for Stress Free Event Planning is to help executive assistants with the event planning portion of their job because a lot of times they have that responsibility, but they don't know where to start. And that's where I would come in.

I will help them with a consultation or speaking and training. I'm currently working on a book as well.

I realized earlier this year there is a hole that I can help fill. A need.

Before, I was going in a different direction, but I realized that this is something I know because I've been in their situation, so I can relate on that level as well.

Before NAMS, I was an event planner looking for ways to do less live events and increase my income - but I didn’t know how.

I joined the Insiders Club shortly after the last NAMS conference. To me, it was a no-brainer to join because I realized it was a wealth of information that you have, but you're willing to share and share freely.

I thought I could really get a lot out of this, establish good relationships, which I have used to help me. If there was something I didn't know, there was always someone in the group that could steer me in the right direction.

Which helped me save time. I don't have to search throughout the internet and try to vet things to see what was real and what was not.

Which I appreciated a lot because I was brand spanking new and just trying to figure out exactly what I wanted to do and what direction to go.

Now, with my business, I have a better direction. There were a couple times where I thought I was going in the right direction and I've had to start over and over again.

I'm told that's normal. I didn't beat myself up too much about that.

I got support in the group, yes.

And, I got featured in at least two publications. I've used that by announcing it on different social platforms. I'm now starting to work on speaking engagements. I just rebranded my website. I've got a lot of feedback from the community and people that I reached out to.

I'm a contractor so I work all over Manhattan. Clients are varied and when I'm working with them it's full time for a certain amount of time.

While I'm doing that, I'm also working on the direction of my company at the same time. Sometimes the two agendas will merge but sometimes they don't.

But it does help build my credibility in the field that I'm in, it helps with the expert background, that accountability, that authenticity that I'm going for so those jobs help build that. But yes, I would like to at some point, that will fade away and my company will rise up.

I like the masterminds that we do every Thursday.

That's really going deep into your business and that helps me figure out ... if it's something that I want to do or take a piece of that and build upon that.

I also like the library. I can go in and get more information on a certain topic.

I think that of information as gold.

That's not something that you can find everywhere and it's a lot of information. You guys do a lot of updating with that information so I'm not looking at something that's many years old.

For example, there was a point when I really needed to find out more about Amazon S3 and exactly how it works to download content when someone opts in. I didn't really know.

Amazon tries to tell you but it's very difficult to understand, so there was a course in the Library. I went through the course. I got to the point where I said, "Okay, I understand what I need to do."

I'll go back to it if I need to, but I know enough where I can now have content downloaded. I know how to upload. I know what their terminology means in Amazon S3. That course was very helpful to me.

My life has changed because I can now see that it is possible. That it is possible to help others by sharing my knowledge and increasing my income and taking care of my family. I have a better sense of what I need to do. And I know this wouldn‘t have been possible without the assistance of NAMS.

I'm almost finished with an e-book as well.

I realized earlier this year there is a hole that I can help fill. A need.

Before, I was going in a different direction, but I realized that this is something I know because I've been in their situation, so I can relate on that level as well.

Not just as an event planner but someone who has been an executive assistant or administrative assistant in the past. That's what I'm working toward for this year.

I narrowed the niche after you got into that side of the business and found the real need. That has been a big improvement.

"The NAMS website should have had one of those “Safe Place” signs on the homepage"

My name is Tim Mauldin. My website is dowhatyoucannow.com

I am still in the discovery mode with a lot of stuff what I'm doing.

I've been through some stages. I have a full-time job, now I'm working from home, which has helped me have more time to focus on my other business.

But I've gone from t-shirts to more writing and storytelling. And I'm working on my branding a lot more now.

My website is dowhatyoucannow.com, seems to be more in keeping with what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to tie in my t-shirts with my other passion, which is my bible study. And I'm trying to tie those two things together.

When you first offered the MyNAMS Insiders Club, I was one of the first ones to jump on board.

I was an architectural illustrator working at a small ad agency and I dreamed about taking my T-Shirt business online “someday."

At the time, I was just getting into the internet space, and I was looking for a home, really. And I needed to be around some folks who knew what was going on. So, this seemed to be a good place, and I had been attending some of the conferences.

I knew nothing about building an internet-based business. You name it – web hosting, list building, shopping carts – the list was long and discouraging.

As you know, and as I've found out the hard way, there are some people who are rather ... They aren't the most ethical people in the world. And I'm still discovering there are people that aren't the most ethical. But I've found that within this community, that's not the case. And that's one of the things I appreciate.

What I’ve found in the Insiders Club is more ethical people leading it and in the group itself…

The NAMS website should have had one of those “Safe Place” signs on the homepage. It’s the “Real Deal.” I’ve made some great friends. Friends I know I can count on for support, encouragement, and accountability.

There’re three other folks that I communicate with on a regular basis that are Insiders, and it's been good to bounce ideas off of, and just to talk about what we have going on in our businesses, and to encourage each other.

And I know that I can go in and just drop into the Facebook group and get some support there. So that's been helpful as well. But I think the friendships have been the biggest part for me.

We have created an informal mastermind group that meets every three weeks.

We just meet every three weeks and just bounce ideas off, and sometimes just catch up on what's been going on in our lives. I mean that's one of the big things, too. Because we can be so isolating working alone.

And I'm the only one in my area doing this type of thing, that I know off, so it's nice. Even though they're spread out across the country, we can meet on Zoom meeting and just talk. And so that's been really helpful, too.

But I've gone from t-shirts to more writing and storytelling. And I'm working on my branding a lot more now.

And one of the things that the NAMS team has really helped me with was storytelling. Your storytelling templates.

Folks have told me I'm a good storyteller, and I think the templates have really helped me to get more precise in that and have more structure so I'm not just rambling and can get more to the point to tell the story in a more succinct way.

That's been really helpful to me as well.

Just yesterday I was checking the stats of my two Kindle books that I've written and part of the Insiders Club Publishing Challenge.

They've made over 120 bucks and I haven't done a thing to promote them. And I'm getting ready to reach out to another community and introduce myself with those books, and I thought, “I should be doing more of those.”
And so that was kind of an eye-opener for me. Because I said, if I'm making $120, it's not going to support me or anything, but if I do more of that, and tell more stories, that could be kind of an interesting angle to pursue.

Life has been tricky the last couple, two, three years. You know what? I've gotten support, that's another thing. Support within the community.
