CASE STUDY 5 Days To $12k-800

Are you ready to build an Affiliate Marketing strategy that will help you create REAL income?

When I was new to the online marketing world, I was so frustrated by this.

Someone does something pretty exciting online, getting great results, and then they clam up.

It's like they want to keep it a secret so that you can never REALLY figure out what they did to get the great results.

Or worse, they want to charge you thousands of dollars just to learn what they're doing. I get it. That's a business model.

But we're not doing that.

We just earned nearly $12,000 in 5 days. If you want to know EXACTLY how it was done, grab this 40-page report below.

His strategy is a must!

"I Just read a report about my own launch and it blew me away.

I’ve been working with affiliates and launching products for over 5 years generating more than 3.6 Million in the last 50 months alone. We had some serious heavy hitters on this launch. And David beat them comfortably by implementing the systems he has in the report. The report is factual and actionable...if you want to be able to make serious money quickly then his strategy is a must.

And there’s no better way than Davids method used on our Converzly launch that did over 162K in 5 days and David held the biggest share of sales."

...Importance of Professional Ethics and Good Choices...

"I really enjoyed the study, because it does not just talk about what you need to do for a successful release, but how to do it, talks about how to have flexibility to deal with the circumstances, and especially what your mentality should be like when entering an Affiliate contest to produce the best possible results. I believe this can also be very useful for anyone who will launch their own product.

It is also something that talks about the importance of professional ethics and good choices. After all, when building a community (audience) we can not think of ourselves as just "salesmen", but as coaches of these people in choosing who they promote for them."

How Would You Like to Get a 226% Increase in Sales Conversions?

Yep, sure!

Who wouldn’t like to see that kind of massive conversion increase?

Of course that’s the holy grail of every online business:bigstock--123847871-450

Find simple and inexpensive ways to increase conversion
dramatically with the traffic that you already have.

My friend Terry Dean, one of the best online marketers around, focuses on conversion techniques for all of his coaching clients.

And one of his favorite sayings is, “You don’t have a traffic problem; you have a conversion problem.”

Of course, without any traffic at all, conversions don’t matter.

But if you have even a little bit of traffic, and you want to increase your conversions dramatically, the fastest and easiest way is to add scarcity to your offer.

But there are dangers in using scarcity incorrectly.

Seize The MomentIn fact, it could backfire on you completely. But done well, scarcity can be a beautiful thing.

In a few minutes, we’ll look at a test by a clothing retailer that resulted in 226 percent increase in ROI.

Time limited offers have worked in every industry for centuries
If you’ve ever used coupons, bought a car on sale, gone to the Macy’s one-day sale, bid on any eBay auction, then you’ve been affected by time-limited marketing.

They all do it. And they do it because it works so well.

Case Study #1

Yaro Starak, a well-known online marketer, says,

"It became apparent that during a complete online launch process with a time based deadline (usually closing down of the offer, or a hefty price increase after deadline), that in the last 24 hours the total number of sales would increase by at minimum 50%, and could even double…

For example, if a product was ‘open’ for a week, and during the first 6 days I made 100 sales, then within the last 24 hours I’d make anywhere from 50 to 100 more sales.

This happened every single time."

bigstock--132454052

And He's Not Alone

Glance through JVZoo or any other online marketplace and you’ll see all forms of scarcity including:

Time limited offers with countdown timers (“tick-tock”)

Limited ‘in-stock’ availability (“only 3 more in stock”)

Seasonal offers (“Pumpkin Spice Latte available until Jan. 1”)

Limited production (“only 100 will be printed”)

Quantity limited (“only 19 left at this price”)

Free shipping offers (“free shipping if you purchase the next 20 minutes”)

Expiring coupons (“coupon expires on 4/1”)

Customer behavior (“1003 liked this product too”)

Limited production (“only 100 will be printed”)

The Fear of Missing Out

According to psychologists, scarcity actually creates a mini-crisis for someone and it focuses the viewer on taking action to alieve the condition.

They know if they don’t act now, they may lose out on a deal.

And it turns out that losing out, the Fear of Missing Out or FOMO, is the driving emotional factor behind most purchases.
In fact, researchers have shown that FOMO is twice as likely to drive sales as an opportunity to seek pleasure.

Scarcity increases customer desire because it forces action. You can’t really be a fence sitter if the product is not going to be available tomorrow.

Crazy sale super discounts pop art retro style. The family runs to the store

The Elements of an Irresistible Offer

What does Terry Dean have to say about it?

In his Golden Glove, a marketing device which highlights the five elements of an irresistible offer, Terry Dean adds scarcity as the fifth and possibly the most important of the elements calling simply:
Reason to act now.

Without a reason to act now, people don’t have to take any action.

And they don’t.

If someone buys a product from you without scarcity, it means they have a desperate problem and need a solution right now, no matter what the price is.

What about price? Is price always the trigger in scarcity ploys?

No, there are many ways to INCREASE price because of scarcity.

Businessman Hand Giving Five Star Rating, Feedback Concept

We Can All Take A Lesson From Apple

When the iPhone first came out, Steve Jobs understood and used scarcity to maintain a premium price.

I knew the person at AT&T really well who managed the iPhone launch.

She dealt directly with Jobs. AT&T had the exclusive (another form of scarcity) contract to sell the first iPhone.

The launch date of the iPhone was months away, but set in stone because they had to leak it, then meet it to build anticipation. The company began taking pre-orders.

I don’t remember the exact numbers, but let’s say that Apple was releasing only 1 million phones on launch day.

Pre-orders were many times that number.

bigstock-Apple-Starts-Iphone--Sales-Wi-72223027-300px

Of course they could have. But the lines at the front door would have been shorter and no one would have spent the night in a tent on the sidewalk to make sure that they got the first iPhone.

Early adopters are the best friend of the scarcity tactic because they become the new evangelists with the coolest tools.

Apple was able to maintain that position for many years with every new launch. People that say launches don’t work should study Apple – they’ve mastered the launch.

And let’s talk about that launch date.

Launch dates build anticipation that result from a countdown.

And a countdown timer is shorthand to your brain that this is urgent.

And as we’ve said, our brain has a hard-wired response to urgent feelings, especially if we think we’re going to lose something, even if the loss is just an opportunity to get something.

In fact, scarcity actually makes people feel like something is more valuable – even when it’s not.

Case Study #2

What does a world class violinist have to do with this?

Let’s talk about Joshua Bell.

He’s a world-class, high-priced concert violinist. People stand in line for days to pay hundreds of dollars for tickets to see him perform in major halls across the world.

As an experiment to see how people valued his music outside the concert hall, he decided to play a free, unannounced concert in the Washington, DC subway. That's him in the 2-minute video at the right.

Imagine that you walk into the station and hear this beautiful violin music coming from an ordinary man dressed in casual clothes.

There’s no sign, no press crew, no indication in any way that this man is special.

People ignored him, until one woman at the end recognized him and said she'd seen him play at "The Library of Congress..."

He is one of the most gifted and respected violinists in the world. This performance was free. People on the subway did not “value” him as much as when they paid for tickets in Carnegie Hall.

But the music was the same.

In the subway, Joshua Bell’s music was not scarce.

In the concert hall, it is. And the perceived value was in the concert hall, not in the common subway station.

That’s the difference.

So, what exactly is scarcity?

Remember when your mom or dad said, “You always want what you don’t have.”

Or perhaps my mother had nailed it when she said, “If I had a pile of dog poop, you’d want one too!”

Science of the brain tells us she was right.bigstock-headless-man-holding-surprised-45210907-300px

If you’ve got it, I want it. If I’ve already got it, you can have it.

Christmas morning is a great example. Kids often abandoned the race car or Barbie doll that they’d insisted they absolutely had to have because they saw something else under the tree.

That reaction is hard-wired in us.

Our brain releases measurable chemicals when we think we’re going to miss out on something.

The more difficult it is to acquire something the more value that thing has.

Rolls Royce automobiles are incredibly difficult to get. There’s a long waiting list.

But if you offer me free shipping in the next 20 minutes, my brain gets just as lit up as if I’d been put on the waiting list for a Rolls.

Why resist it?

redtimerSo, for years, I stuck my nose in the air and said, “I won’t use deadlines and scarcity gimmicks in my marketing. That’s ridiculous!”

Boy, was I wrong.

If you want to sell something, you have to add a deadline.

But if you overdue it, then people don’t believe you. That’s why when we build the Simple Conversion Commander plugin, we did so with the requirement that it manage marketing campaigns so that an offer was gone when it said it was gone.

That’s just keeping your integrity tidied up.

But the other benefit is that it helps train your people to pay attention. If you say it’s gone at midnight ET, then it should be gone at midnight ET. Not PT, or MT, but ET.

Then, the next time a promotion runs and it says midnight ET, folks will know. After midnight and you’ll lose out.

Case Study #3

Remember that 226 percent ROI increase?

That came about with one little change to an online ecommerce page where a Dutch retailer was selling a suede jacket. The results are  below.

Look closely and you'll see one little thing that makes all the difference in the world.FreeShipping26%ResultsIncreaseAYep, it's the scarcity element.

The test was very simple.

The first listing, call it Test A, was exactly the same without the scarcity element.

The second listing, Test B, added the inline text timer to off next day delivery. It doesn't even offer "Free" next day. It just says to order before the timer goes down and you'll get it next day.

That simple change - adding a scarcity element with a timer - resulted in a 226 percent revenue increase on that listing.

That's powerful!

Over the two-week test, the conversions went from 3% (on the page without the timer) to nearly 7 % regularly with nearly 50,000 visitors. All day long!

The timer had a major (and predictable) impact according to the website WhichTestWon.com.

If you add time-limited scarcity in a strategic way, your results could be similar.

Finally, there's an app for that...

Managing your marketing campaigns to include scarcity is truly a mechanical
process. It’s a set-it-and-forget-it affair. Or at least, it should be.

I’ve stayed up many nights to change the price on a page.

Or close down an offer.

Or redirect a page to a new page.

And it’s a pain to do that.

The Simple Conversion Commander is the tool that does just that. It’s a WordPress plugin, but works with raw code for non WordPress sites.

To add scarcity to your posts, be sure you check that out.

Less Stress More Cash for the Holidays

Less Stress More Cash for the Holidays

The holidays can be stressful, especially for entrepreneurs.

These months are typically the slowest for many online businesses unless your niche is one of the few that flourishes during the holidays – like home and garden or health and fitness.

For most everyone else, our businesses suffer the terrible cash flow blues.

Then the stress of less cash tends to creep in and becomes even worse because this time of year always means more time away from your business. PLUS you need more cash for personal things like gifts, meals, holiday parties and gearing up for the new year.

I thought we could all benefit from a quick list on how to reduce the stress and potentially increase the cash coming in the door.

So first though… BREATHE.

The only way to reduce the stress is to focus on what you can really get done. Be realistic, practical and most of all don’t create more struss for yourself!

I laugh as I write this because my to-do list is sitting right next to my keyboard staring me straight in the eye!

Trying to balance the personal list and the business list can feel a bit overwhelming.

Let’s tackle the business list first.

  • How Much?

Determine what kind of additional cash you need to make it comfortably through the next 6 weeks.

  • How Would You Like To Earn Extra Cash?

Do you want to do a sale on products you have in your arsenal already? Do you want to pick up a few clients doing done for you work? Do you want to finish up a new product so you can launch it during this period?

Flash Sales or Holiday Sales are great way to earn extra cash. Especially when you already have a sales page and the product created and done.

Each year at MYNAMS, we run a sale called December Deals. When we started doing it, it was to retire old products we wanted to take out of our normal sales funnels. Now in year 6, we offer tons of never released before products!

Of course you don’t have to run a month long promotion like we do, but you could offer something over a week long period.

Our customers look forward to our December Deals and that has made December our highest income month each year.

If your business is a service-based business, this is a great time to sell a block of your time to your existing clients. Remember, most other business owners are strapped for cash and strapped for time as well during the holiday months too so getting hours at a discounted rate to be used in the coming year to help generate additional income in their own business is appreciated!

Let’s say you are a graphic designer. You could create a package of holiday themed images to help your client promote their own sales during the holiday months. Once you’ve done the initial leg work of creating your holiday themed templates, it would be easy to sell those packages that can be customized specifically for your client.

Doing the base design work is the time consuming part, right? By quickly branding those images for your clients, you still have to do a bit of work but the templates are already done!

Think about what you can do in your own specialty that uses the same concepts.

Do you have a course that’s almost ready to launch? Run an early bird sale on that course with definitive release dates for the remainder of the course. For example Modules 1-3 are now available and Modules 4-6 will be released on specific dates.. This gives you an opportunity to get customers using the course right away and giving you feedback. Once you’ve built the entire course, you’ll be able to get testimonials from the existing students and you can release the course at a higher price in the beginning of the year.

  • What's Your Asset Inventory Like?

Once you determine what you have in your inventory, decide how much time you can realistically put towards the project. If you know you’ll be traveling for 2 weeks in December, you don’t want to plan on launching your sale the day before you leave. That’s just way too much stress. Or if you know you will have a house full of guests, you don’t want to always be tethered to your computer meeting client deadlines or working in your support desk.

  • No Products? No Problem.

So what if you don’t have any products you can use in the scenarios above? Do you recommend other products as an affiliate? Reach out to someone who has a product that really fills a hole in your business and ask if you can do a special promotion of his or her product.  Most business owners will jump at an opportunity to make sales. Especially if they have an evergreen product. Ask for a special coupon or add your own bonus to the promotion.

It’s much easier to write blog content and emails to sell someone else’s product than trying to create your own promotions for short term cash.

  • Got Coaching?

Do you offer coaching services? Create a special limited time promotion to sell XXX number of seats to your program at a heavily reduced price. Begin the program after the holiday rush. Remember your coaching clients are just as busy as you are during the holidays and don’t want to be pressured to meet your deadlines and goals. That is the #1 objection to coaching programs. Not enough time to participate. Meet that objection head on.

  • Are Live Events Your Favorite Thing?

Have you been thinking about holding a live event? A 30-day challenge for example? Outline your program and create your start date. Put the program on sale. This gives you a chance to build the entire product live at a later time.

When we created our first MyNAMS 30-day challenge on list building, we did it as a live event where we met each day and interviewed an expert. We sold the program in advance and then created the content each day as we did the challenge. By the end of the event, we had a fully built program that we could sell any time.

This same concept works with a live workshop or summit.

  • Don't Forget About Your Team!

Remember if you work with a team, you need to make sure you are clear on when they will be available during the holidays. You don’t want to create deadlines or delivery dates for your products if your team members will not be available.

  • Automate For Less Stress!

Automate as much as possible. This allows you to spend quality time with friends and family during the holiday season and BE PRESENT! That’s what being an entrepreneur is all about anyway, right?

Now on to a few personal tips –

Make the time. Yesterday I spent the day making holiday crafts with my aunt. We knocked out 16 gifts, spent time together and watched football. (My family's favorite past time). I scheduled all of my work items in advance so I never had to check the computer or send an email.

A flexible schedule. I get a lot done in a day. But many times, I don’t complete everything on my list. As a wife, employee and boss, I have to be a lot of things for a lot of different people.

When I don’t manage my time everyone suffers. Just ask my husband.

We make lists for chores and projects that need to be accomplished. We divvy them up and then decide what’s really possible to complete. If a project doesn’t get done because life gets in the way, we determine if it HAS to get done and if we can push it off.

When we schedule time together to just have dinner and watch a movie, then nothing else can affect that. Unless an emergency crops up that is...

What are the things you absolutely love to do during the holidays? Do it and do it often!

For me, it’s going out to cut and then decorate our Christmas tree. We plan and prioritize it. No work or other chores get scheduled that day. It’s something that brings me joy and I won’t let anything get in the way of that. Then I love sitting around the tree. My office moves to my living room as much as possible so I can enjoy it frequently!

What are the things you don’t like to do but have to get done? Don’t draw it out. Just do it!

When I’m up against a task I don’t want to do, I try to make my environment as stress free as possible. It may be that I need some great music in the background that makes me more relaxed, or a warm cup of tea. Sometimes it’s complete quiet so I can focus and knock it out.

Communicate. When I have to do something work related that takes away from my personal time, I let my family know in advance.

For example, today I’m writing this blog post. I need to be able to concentrate. It’s a Sunday and husband is at home. We determined the amount of time I would need, then we agreed to do our own thing during that time. He knows I need quiet uninterrupted time to get this project done so he went to run some errands. When our agreed upon time is over, we’ll work on a project around the house together.

I know these sound easy and maybe even a bit silly, but being aware and being conscious is what helps relieve the stress of trying to manage your business life and your personal life during a historically busy time of the year.

I hope you find some of these tips helpful in earning a little more cash for your business this holiday season and having a TON LESS STRESS too!

If you want to be notified when our annual December Deals promotion starts, just enter your name and email below and you’ll have a chance to see some of our best products at 90% off throughout the month of December!

...Importance of Professional Ethics and Good Choices...

Content is King…Or So They Say

By Jen Perdew 3 Comments

Content Is King...
But Only If It Serves Your List

If content is king, consistency is queen - blogging and social media tip - handwriting on a napkin with a cup of coffee

The money is in the list.

In fact, your list is your number one asset for your business and you must treat them as such.

Your list is going to naturally segment themselves into engaged content consumers only, buyers and consumers and inactive contacts.

Your job is to keep your subscriber engaged until they become buyers.

You’re going to have people who buy from you immediately.

And those who need a little more nurturing until they’re ready.

There are 3 things we’re going to tackle today.

  • How do you build a list?
  • How do you keep your subscribers on your list?
  • How do you keep coming up with new content?

How do you build a list?

Well, this is a really broad question so we’re not going to talk technical aspects. There are courses upon courses on what to do to actually build your list.

It drives me nuts though when my students say “ I have to build my list” but they have nothing to use to actually give that potential new subscriber.

You can’t just slap up a blog and assume your list is going to grow like crazy. It just doesn’t work that way.

Listbuilding is a big massive effort that must be combined with targeted traffic.

You can't have one without the other.

So we’re going to focus on what you should offer to encourage your visitor to sign up for your list.

Think of it like this- when you go for a job interview, you want to look your best right?  First impressions are everything!

Especially in the online world. People are becoming more and more protective of their email address.

When building your list, you want to offer the very best in your free offer. This is YOUR first impression.

So the free offer must be highly valuable. It doesn’t have to be huge and it doesn’t have to be long. It just has to be GOOD and USEFUL.

In fact, more and more marketers report that offering massive packages as the free offer has lower conversion rates.

Why do you think that is?

Think about it.

People look for simple and quick. They need an easy and fast win. And if you can give them that win, you’ve just built your credibility. And credibility is key to achieving the next two items on our list!

That’s why templates and checklists convert so well.

Give people something they can use. Immediately.

Save your long video training for later.

Think about what your area of expertise is in. Now how can you create a free offer based on that area of expertise? It’s going to allow you to stay congruent with your long-term funnel.

And congruency is key to item # 2.

How do you keep your subscribers on your list?

People don’t want to sign up for your free product about nutrition and health and immediately receive content about spiritual growth.

Now you and I both know there is a correlation. But you really have to make that introduction to new content through a well-laid consumption path.

So how do you keep subscribers on your list?

First, you want to wow them and beat their expectations of you and your business.

BUT you must give them content (whether free or paid) that directly relates to how they came onto your list to start with.

So wait FREE OR PAID content?

That’s right. Free or paid.

Remember you must monetize your list in order for your business to survive.

And if someone signs up for your free product they are obviously looking for a solution.

It’s your job to give them that solution and it can be in the form of a paid product.

Right now you may not have a paid product and that’s ok. Make sure you’re creating content to nurture that new lead.

What kind of content could you create?

  • Blogging is a great way to nurture your list.
  • Email auto-responder series are good too. ( Email is not dead! Don't believe that rumor)
  • A monthly newsletter (this is a way to only commit to once a month content!)

You can easily change out your call to actions within this content so when you are ready to launch your product, they will already have a good rapport with you and you can start selling your products.

OR even better, if you don’t have your own products yet, use this time to hone your selling skills and promote some affiliate offers inside your content.

How do you keep coming up with new content?

I don’t think coming up with new content is that hard...if you plan.

This is where a content calendar really comes into play.

Everyone’s business is different but I’ll tell you how I come up with my content.

In the MyNAMS Insiders Club, we have monthly topic-specific challenges. So I write all of my content to focus on those monthly challenges. Then I give myself some slots on my calendar that don’t have a topic yet assigned so I can fill in with TIMELY content. Ya, know the stuff that’s hot right now. Or sometimes we get some really great questions in our support desk that everyone would benefit from my response.

So I would use this approach for your own business.

If you’re just getting started, don’t let yourself get overwhelmed with trying to come up with content for a year or even 6 months.

Do what’s comfortable for you. But make sure you have a plan. If you don’t, it can look like you’re just throwing things out there.

The worst thing is when you’ve promised content to your list and you have no idea what it’s going to be and it’s the day before.

If you have a general content plan, then you can let the ideas swim around in your head before you actually have to write.

I guarantee you have more content than you think you do. Take a look on your hard drive. Look for private label content you can easily change and adapt to your own voice or do a little research for idea starters from content you've already created.

I bet you'll find you have enough there to create both your nurture content and maybe even a low-cost product so you can focus on turning those subscribers into buyers.

After all, we'd all rather have a list of buyers who engage and consume content and products than a list of freebie seekers.
