5 Tips to Get Your First 1000 Subscribers

5 Tips to Get Your First 1000 Subscribers

get your first 1000 subscribers

Get your first 1000 subscribers can feel overwhelming. But, it doesn’t have to be. Online entrepreneurs know how vital having an email list is to their success. But how do you do it? The first thing you need to understand is that they are people, not just names with dollar signs attached.

With that in mind, you need to make a connection with them. Then, once they are on your list, you need to nurture and build an authentic, trusting relationship with them over time.

But first, how do you get them on your list?

The following tips don’t need to be implemented at the same time. Instead, select which ones that appeal to you and track to see how well they are work.

Note that these five tips are only part of a list-building strategy.  If you’re looking for an in-depth way to get more subscribers, click here.

Get Your First 1000 Subscribers

1. Plan Your Content

You can’t just fly by the seat of your pants with your content!  To provide consistent, quality content, you need to take the time to create it. Likewise, when you outsource content, you need to plan it.

An Editorial Calendar will keep you organized. There are many apps that you can use. However, a Google calendar will work for your needs. Coordinate your blog posts, social posts, and emails in advance to make sure you have the type of content you need when you need it.

2. Tell Stories

It’s no secret - stories sell. They will warm up your audience and help accelerate the know-like-trust factor. Once that connection takes place, they will be more likely to buy from you.

You can sprinkle stories into your blog posts, emails, and social media. Don’t get too carried away with the storytelling, though. Interject them naturally.

For example, if something funny happened that reminded you of a business-related topic, share it with your audience so they can have a chuckle about it too.

3. Create a Video Presentation or Demo

People can’t get enough of videos, primarily when they teach something.

Use a screencast software to show your audience how to do something or walk them through the member’s area they just joined.

4. Be Approachable on Social Media Within Reason

Social media is an excellent platform to put yourself amid your target audience. The key to this is to know your audience well enough to be present online when they are. If time zones make it challenging, you can always respond to comments and questions for them to see the next time they are back.

Be approachable and trustworthy. Sharing with others the mistakes you made in your business shows that you are a real person, just like them.

It shows that you are experienced and can help them overcome the challenges in their business. Talk about building trust! This is powerful!

5. Have a Conversation, Not a Sales Pitch

Adding subscribers to your list shouldn’t feel like a sales pitch to your reader. Instead, decide to have a conversation-style approach. Imagine having a conversation with a person who may need something you have to offer sometime.

This is where building a relationship begins. A genuine desire to give them a chance to get to know you can result in a loyal customer base for years to come. If you throw out non-stop sales pitches, you’ll lose people in the long run.

Getting subscribers is different than selling a product. Warm them up through conversational-style contact. Give them a chance to see you as someone who cares about them, not just their money.

Save the sales pitch for your sales pages, offers, and more appropriate places.

The Best Way to Get Email Subscribers?

Be consistent and keep giving. Consistency should be an automatic habit you have in your business. Set up your Editorial Calendar (blog posts, social media posts, and email sequences) on a schedule that works for your audience, and stick to it.

Staying in touch with your subscribers is vital. It’s easier to keep someone on your list than to capture new leads. So make it a win-win situation by communicating with your audience regularly.

Find ways to give your audience what they want and need. It can be free information or paid products. Once they realize you want to help them, it makes a positive impression.

Share social posts that make a difference to your community. Find better ways to serve your email subscribers, and they will become your loyal fans and email subscribers.

Are You Ready to Take Action and Build Your List?

Your YouTube Marketing Strategy with 5 Easy Tips

By David Perdew Leave a Comment

YouTube Marketing Strategy: 5 Easy Tips

YouTube Video Marketing Strategy

Do you have a YouTube video marketing strategy for your business? If not, you should reconsider that. YouTube is a great way to market your business, products, or services.  Many businesses understand the powerful impact videos have, and leverage it to their advantage.

And, you can too!

YouTube Video Marketing Strategies: Get it Right

First YouTube Video Marketing Strategy

Make it clear what it is you're promoting. Although some popular videos seem to have nothing to do with the products they promote, they will make a point by the end of their video. You should do the same. At the very least, include your URL within your video and optimize the video description so people can get to your website.

Second YouTube Video Marketing Strategy

Make your video entertaining. Entice people to watch it. People enjoy seeing real people in real situations. Word of mouth is the top marketing tool, and people love to share videos they enjoy with their friends. And it's free!

Focus on making it realistic and use the appropriate tags and categories in the right way. Tags is what the search engines use to find your video. Never use random tags. They need to have something to do with the video people are watching. The tags cover all parts of the video. For instance, if you are marketing real estate in Portland, make your tag words have something to do with real estate, Portland, houses, and buying property.

Third YouTube Video Marketing Strategy

Never underestimate the power of promoting yourself. Add your URL to every outgoing email you send. If you belong to any groups, the URL should be part of your signature. Your presence will help drive traffic.

Finally, if you create an awesome marketing video and people watch it, word of mouth will take it further. Remember your audience when you are making your video.

YouTube Video Marketing Tips

Most of the YouTube viedeos are shot by amateurs and are low-budget. That doesn't mean that there isn't much work involved to create them. There are ways to make your videos effective. Keep these tips in mind when creating your YouTube video.

Tip #1 Do Something a Little Different

To make your video stand out, you need to stand out yourself. Don't just film yourself sitting on a couch, talking. That's boring and it's been done before.

Instead, try to find an interesting background. Use some interesting music that goes along with your video. Even if you are making an informational or educational video you should be able to find ways to make it entertaining.

The last thing that you want to do is to stand in front of the camera and talk as if you are giving a speech.

Tip #2 Make Sure That You Dress for Success

If you're going to make a professional marketing video directed towards a corporate setting, dress like it. It's important to dress properly so your audience can connect with you better.

Remember, to be viewed as an expert in your niche, you need to look like an expert in your niche. For example, if you are a mechanic, it's okay to wear your uniform. If you are an executive financial planner, wearing a T-shirt and cutoffs isn't saying much about your expertise.

Whatever is appropriate for your audience connect with you will work.

Tip #3 Don't Just Advertise

People don't come on to YouTube to watch advertisements. They have regular commercials and late-night infomercials for that. For YouTube, you need something entertaining.

Tip #4 Video Quality

Your video doesn't have to be stiff-looking, but it shouldn't be shoddy work either. The audience must be able to hear the audio and clearly see you on the screen. This means no bad lighting.

Technology today makes it easier to create a nice quality video without costing you a small fortune. Audio and lighting are vital. Therefore, use a better microphone and a nice audio track to up-level the quality.

Tip #5 Keep it Short

Most successful YouTube videos are less than 5 minutes long. Even if your marketing video is educational or informational, make sure that it isn't needlessly long. For this reason, it might be helpful to write out a script first and then time it.

Conclusion

Video creation is easier than ever to develop. Don't be intimidated by the process. The best thing to do is to do research on videos in your niche. Don't copy -  get inspired.  Then, create your YouTube marketing strategy and map out the process.

Learn how to leverage YouTube and create videos that attract your ideal audience. You don't have to figure the process alone. We can help!

Benefits of Using YouTube for Business

Benefits of Using YouTube for Business

Benefits of Using YouTube for Business

There are many benefits of using YouTube for your business marketing. Number one is that it’s no secret that people love videos. If you haven’t considered using YouTube as part of your marketing strategy, now is the time to do it.

Think about your YouTube visits. Whether you need to see how to change the filter in your refrigerator or enjoy a cat video, YouTube has become a go-to for entertainment, funny videos, how-to solutions, and more.

The benefits of using YouTube for business mean you have another platform that people are familiar with and trust. Marketing your business, products, and services there simply makes sense.

What's holding you back?

Are you concerned about how to make a video? Should you hire a professional or do it yourself? What if you don't know anything about making a video, much less one that will make people visit your site? This article will look at the pros and cons of hiring a professional versus creating it yourself.

Pros and Cons of Hiring a Professional

Pros of Hiring a Professional to Create Your Marketing Video:

Are you concerned about how to make a video? Should you hire a professional or do it yourself? What if you don't know anything about making a video, much less one that will make people visit your site? This article will look at the pros and cons of hiring a professional versus creating it yourself.

They have video creation experience.

Their ability to produce a professional video faster.

They know how to optimize your video on YouTube.

The software necessary to create a video is something they own.

They know all of the best tips and tricks of creating professional videos.

Depending on how in-demand they may be, it may take time for them to produce yours.

Cons of Hiring a Professional to Create Your Marketing Video:

Their rate for creating your videos may be quite high.

Depending on how in-demand they may be, it may take time for them to produce yours.

If you are new to working with this person, there may be a lot of back and forth proofing and editing to take place, slowing down the process.

Pros and Cons of Doing it Yourself

Pros of Doing it Yourself

More cost-effective, especially if you are on a tight budget.

You are in complete control of everything.

You can edit anything as you go along, saving you more money and time.

There are many video creation apps that are user-friendly and have tons of templates and voiceovers to select from. We love Vidnami, formerly known as Content Samurai. Click here to get a discount and learn more about Vidnami.

Cons of Doing it Yourself

Not knowing what to do or where to start.

Unprofessional-looking video.

Your lack of video experience may appear unprofessional and be a negative reflection of you and your business.

You will take a long time to create the video.

If you’ve never created a video before and are on a budget, perhaps you can reduce your cost of hiring a professional video producer by writing a script with the concept, provide images and graphics, and music. Then, hire a professional to take it from there, hopefully reducing their cost because you handled so much of the content.

If your budget doesn’t have room for this, there are thousands of websites, and you guessed it! YouTube videos to provide pointers and ‘how to create a YouTube video,’ along with ideas on how to market it.

YouTube Advertising Strategy

If you are new to the idea of having a YouTube advertising strategy, it’s never too late to start. There are free and paid options. The first step is to do a little research on YouTube to find what fellow niche-mates are doing on YouTube. Create a list of what you like and why, as well as what you DON’T like and why. Pay attention to the format and how they use a call to action for their viewer.

Hopefully, you are more comfortable about using videos in your marketing plan. Start with creating one video and note the process. As you begin more comfortable, you can add some slick features to your videos.

The good news is that if you want to create your own videos, there are hundreds of great apps and tools available that are designed user-friendly. Many are very cost-effective and have excellent training. As I mentioned earlier, we use Vidmani in our business.

If you are interested in using a YouTube Advertising Strategy to build your list, our MyNAMS Insider’s Club Challenge called Video Marketing Mastery Challenge is exactly what you need! It’s a 30-Day Challenge with weekly Mastermind calls included. To learn more, click here.

Social Media Marketing for Small Business Owners

By David Perdew Leave a Comment

Social Media Marketing for Small Business Owners

Social Media Marketing for small business owners

Social media marketing for small business owners provides the opportunity to get more attention when you create and share content. Social media platforms are ideal places to engage with your ideal audience, although they aren’t necessarily the best places to make sales. Your strategy should be to use social media to drive traffic to your opt-in to build your list. An email list provides the easiest and best way to make sales.

Begin with a Lead Magnet

A lead magnet is known by many names, such as ‘ethical bribe,’ freebie, small report, or a gift in exchange for the person’s email. Your lead magnet should be valuable content that your audience can use immediately to solve a problem.  They can help grow your list by offering multiple ways for your audience to enter your list by downloading your content.

The best lead magnets solve a problem, works quickly, and provides immediate gratification. They can be in multiple forms, for example, reports, checklists, cheat sheets, reports, etc.

Pretty much anything your audience will find helpful can become a lead magnet. Presenting your lead magnet on social media is an excellent way to build your list.

6 Ways to Use Social Media Marketing for Small Business Owners

Your goal is to get your lead magnets in front of as many people as you can using your social media platforms so they sign up to your list. Encourage them to share the link with others, and build a long-term relationship with your customers and fans.

Promote Your Lead Magnets Consistently

You can’t hope that people will come across your website to find your lead magnet. For instance, you should promote your lead magnet as you would a product you’ve developed by spreading the word on social media. Use a social media scheduler to easily get the lead magnet seen more than once on your platforms, such as Hootesuite and Loomly.

The ideal lead magnet will be evergreen. They can motivate people to join your list, and furthermore, segment your list. Segmenting your list effectively means you can whittle down the freebie seekers. Use tags to move people through your funnel that delivers the right information at the right time. This creates an email list that is responsive to your offers based on your lead magnet they signed up to receive.

All Social Media Profiles Should Always Include a CTA

Most social media platforms allow you to have a link or button. Create the call to action that leads to the opt-in page with your lead magnet/freebie for each platform that you use. Don’t use the same landing page for all of your social media platforms. Each audience may be a little different and should be treated as such. Plus, keep in mind that the more options you have for your audience, the more likely they are to join your list.

Use Content Upgrades in Blog Posts and Promote on Social Media

Every blog post should have at least one content upgrade, which is an in-content link to an opt-in of some type. It can be as simple as a checklist, or a more in-depth report for the blog post, or anything that is easily downloadable and relevant to the information they are reading.

This has a bonus side-effect of showing your expertise on a topic. It will grab their attention while they’re reading about the topic, therefore the likelihood of someone signing up for your list to get additional content is extremely high.

impact of social media on marketing strategy

Add a Sign-Up Button on Your Facebook Page

Set up a Facebook Page. Keep it active and add a sign-up button. In your scheduled posts, add a reminder to sign up for your list via your sign-up button. To add the sign-up button, you just “edit” the button and add the link to your sign-up form. It’s that easy. If that doesn’t work to get more signups, consider adding a “learn more” link with your opt-in form and freebie.

Pay for Promotion and Ads on Social Media

Most social media today including Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook allow some form of promotion. In fact, if they offer it, you practically must do it because that’s the only way to get more eyes on your offers. Thankfully, it’s easy and inexpensive to set up. You’re likely to get a lot of signups if you promote something your audience feels is valuable to their success.

Share Everything on Social Media

When you create anything, it should be shared on social media. Whether it’s a blog post, a product, a freebie, a new opt-in, and even in some cases an important email that you’ve sent to your subscribers – it should be shared on social media. The more eyes you can get on any piece of content that you’ve created the better and the more likely you are to get sign-ups. Don’t just share things one-time either. Share regularly and repeatedly. You can use software like Hootsuite.com, Tailwind.com, or Missinglettr.com to help you schedule repeat shares.

In conclusion, the positive impact of social media on marketing strategy efforts makes it an ideal way to interact with your target audience. It’s a traffic-generating tool to send people to your blog, website, and services. This ultimately impacts your profit. But, you have to do it the right way.

If you’re looking to amp up your social media results for more profit, then we have just what you need.

Persuasive Email Format for Success

The Persuasive Email Format for the Ultimate Know, Like and Trust Factor

Writing a persuasive email

Use a persuasive email format to build and provide your audience with what they need instead of what YOU need from them.

Email marketing is a powerful tool in your marketing toolbox. It takes time and work, however, it does pay off. If you are doing it correctly. Writing a persuasive email does not always mean you are selling something.

Have you struggled with engagement? If so, it’s time to evaluate what you are doing. Be ready to ramp up your results, build a relationship with your audience and understand the importance of having an email marketing plan in place.

Persuasive Email Marketing Strategy #1: The Basics

If you implement some new tips and techniques or recognize missed opportunities or mistakes, this is a great opportunity to try something different. This email marketing post can help a range of businesses - from a newbie to an established business - a little something for everyone.

The success of the strategies will depend on your business and other unique factors of you. Be willing to consider how these ideas can make a difference and try them out for yourself.

You need to have a way to collect people’s names and email info on your website. It begins with a signup form or an opt-in form that visitors can easily join your ‘list/audience’. They have indicated that they are interested in what you have to offer. Just like that, you have pre-qualified a potential new customer!

Persuasive Email Marketing Strategy #2: Build the Relationship with Your First Email

Once they provide their email information to you, you should have an email series that automatically is sent to them thanking them for joining or thanking them by sending whatever you promised (special report, checklist, etc.) to them by giving you their information.

From there, you have the opportunity to directly contact them about offers designed to help them achieve their goals. Before you begin marketing to them, you should establish the Know-Like-Trust process with them.

Now that you have someone register for your list, don't make the mistake to use their inbox as a continual source of sales emails from you. Respect their trust that you won't abuse their inbox.

The Ultimate Persuasive Email Strategy: Give More

Do not only email them only with things to purchase!

Instead, nurture them to build a relationship. This style of email format provides them with free content so they can get a better idea of who you are and how you can help them. What you send can be something as simple as a checklist or a short email course. Provide them a real taste of the quality and expertise you have to help them.

All that really matters here is you want them to open and act upon your emails. They may unsubscribe because you are constantly trying to sell them something and they are still learning more about you.

When you are ready to provide an offer, guide them through it with a definite goal in mind. Your offer must pertain to what you gave to them. For example, if they joined your list for ‘the best banana nut bread recipe’, don’t try to sell them a ‘guide about flower garden’. Clarity and simplicity works well in this area.

When you do send them an offer and they purchase, future sales are easier to make for whatever products/programs you provide them with. Plus, you can command a higher price knowing they see you as their ‘go to’ person in the field.

Conclusion

‘Signing up for your newsletter’ is no longer something busy people today are interested in receiving. Think about your own inbox.  Do you read the newsletters you had subscribed to in the past? There is so much stuff coming to our inboxes that we really don’t look at anymore. So why would this not be the same for your site visitor?

A call to action is only half of the battle.. You need to create a motive to act. This is a specific incentive – where the Which, What, How, and Benefit needs to be specific to their problem you can potential solve. Keep in mind that you want to target the right visitor to respond, someone who will buy from you, not just kick the tires looking for freebies only.

I have wandered around blindly for over 4 years wondering why things weren't working...the things y'all teach are not being taught elsewhere. Instead, the advice is vague and leaves you feeling stupid because you're not figuring it out.
